Clearbrook
Here's a panorama shot of the Clearbrook park.
Description:
The Clearbrook park is your basic snake run it starts out with a concrete median.
Pedal a little farther up a two foot hump and your at the top of a two foot tall
horseshoe. At the other end of the horseshoe is what we have come to call the
stove top, enough said. As you come down the other side of the stove top there
is a three foot burm which starts off the snake run down into the five foot bowl.
That's about it, oh yeah wait a second, threes also a ten foot piece of railway
rail lying beside the stovetop. Pretty useless to a bike except for manuals.
The park is dead all day long until 3:00 pm when school gets out, and even then
all that shows up is a couple of elementary school kids. Around 4:30 - 5:00 pm
a few bikers may show up and the occasional skater. All the skaters go to the
newer Abby park. There are no lights at the park but during soccer season the
adjacent soccer fields light up the whole park no problem.
Directions:
From the Number One highway exit at Clearbrook road, head north. Drive north on
Clearbrook road for about three kilometers and turn right into the Matsqui Rec
Centre. Park anywhere and start walking across the gravel soccer fields and there
you are, have fun.
