I continue to get pinch  flats on my tubes when I misjudge and hit a coping/edge/curb. I need to stop this from happening.

Any tips? [yeah, don't land on coping, thx.]

Specs:
I have rim strips.
Tires are new [but cheapo's]
Tubes are 45 lbs/pressure

Will specific street/trail tubes make a noticeable difference?
Is heavy duty tubes any different/better?
Do high pressure tires/tubes make a difference?

I just need to slow this from happening all the time so any/all advice will be appreciated.

Thx.

1 - Put more air in your tires.

2 - Put a little baby powder in between the tube and tire.

Sometimes pinchflats are caused because the tube is stretched beyond it's limits. If you put some powder in there you can reduce the amount of friction between the tube and tire so the tube can wiggle around more easily.

That is an awesome article! Thanks J!

Summary- for those who don't care/cannot read:
Wide rim + chalk in tire + Duck tape rim strip = happiness.

If you find your still having problems, I've been riding those new walmart 17 dollar foldable kevlar tires for like a month now. And they absolutely slay, Not a single flat yet, and I ride hard.
